Urmila Matondkar Joins Shiv Sena In Presence Of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray
After resigning from Congress, last year, Bollywood actress Urmila Matondkar today joined another political party Shiv Sena. The actress-turned-politician joined Shiv Sena in presence of Chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The Bollywood actress started her political career with Lok Sabha polls on Congress ticket from Mumbai North constituency which she failed, last year. A day back, Sanjay Raut had confirmed that Urmila may join the party.

Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut had earlier said on Monday, “She (Urmila Matondkar) may join Shiv Sena tomorrow. She is a Shivsainik. We are happy that she is joining the Shiv Sena. This will strengthen the party’s ‘mahila aghadi’”  Since October 2019, rumours were abuzz that the actress is likely to join Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party or even Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena. The right-wing Marathi regional political party is founded by Balasaheb Thackeray.

Urmila was recently in news when Kangana Ranaut had passed ‘soft porn remarks’. After seeing everyone’s support. She had then tweeted, “Thank you the “Real People of India” and a rare breed of unbiased,dignified media for standing by me. It’s Your victory over fake IT trolls n propaganda. Deeply touched..humbled #JaiHind.” The actor turned politician also thanked the ‘rare breed of unbiased, dignified media’ for standing by her during the tough times.
